Hi friends,
Today I am sharing a little organizing secret with MGC community: using a personal planner has literally saved me from insanity!
I have been using my Filofax Windsor for about six months now and it has become quite a bit of an obsession. Before I knew it, I became part of a world of Filofax Addicts, you can find them all on YouTube where they share their thoughts and personal setups and their Filofax of different sizes and colors.
Two of my favorites are Mysummertouch and Mypurpleylife.
There is even a blog dedicated to the love of the Filofax called Philofaxy where you can find downloadable inserts as well as all the latest blogs and videos from fans (I hope I make it!)
Having a personal planner is not just about keeping track of my to-dos and appointments, it is also about organizing my thoughts and ideas. In my case, I solely use my planner to fit my needs when it comes to managing my home and my blog/vlogs.
I too, of course, plan on expanding by creating my own inserts and going "custom" all the way!
I made this video to take you on a tour of my Filofax as it stands today. There will be an update in a few weeks. I found out that keeping a personal planner is a dynamic process in that it changes and evolves all the time according to my needs, cough cough, and sometimes my mood!
Here are a few snapshots of my current setup. I have made all the dividers myself and used a lot of scrapbooking supplies to decorate it. (all the references are in the video).
Here's the video (if you want to check it out first).
This is the front page - also called the dashboard where I would place sticky notes as quick reminders of what needs to be done. All my dividers are faced with a sheet of acetate to protect the divider as well as ensure the notes would stick better.
I use a variety of flags, clips and tabs to access my most used sections.
Unlike true fans, I do not like Filofax inserts, finding them too small and too blah! Instead, I use Franklin Covey inserts.
This is the layout that fits my needs, it provides plenty space for to-dos. i use Franklin Covey Serenity.
I like to decorate my Filofax with inspiring quotes.
As you can see, it is bursting at the seam!
Check the video and take a full tour of my Personal size Filofax!
Thanks for watching! Don't miss out on my next video, I will be doing a Bath & Body Works Giveaway (Coming June 16, 2013!)

I've been using a planner for over 20 years and can't function without it. I've used a Franklin Covey compact most of the time but I'm currently using a Filofax Personal Malden with homemade pages. I can't imagine trying to run my life without it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing yours. Looks like you've found a great set-up. I really like the weekly pages you chose. I made a homemade version similar to that that I sometimes use for my blog planning. I think it's a cool design.
Thank you. I like this design as well, I just wish FC would offer more options. It only comes as the Serenity pack. I am definitely going to redesign my own and offer them as free downloadables. Thank you for watching/reading.
DeleteWhat a beautiful Winchester and great set-up! Thanks for sharing it!
